Our Story
How did we get here?
No "hold on to your seats" story just two parents, like you, excited and enthusiastic to watch their children, Ruby and Roy, find their calling and change the world. Just like so many parents, we thoroughly researched potential schooling models and questioned countless friends about their schooling experiences. The rethinking education model of Acton Academy offers what we want for our children and for all children - to be prepared for a meaningful life, with 21st century skills that focus on learning to "Do" and to learning to "Be" while embracing the path of a lifelong learner.
Acton Academy is a proven network of learner-driven micro-schools, founded by educators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and parents.

Bill & Amy Jones
Co-Founders
Bill is an oil and gas professional and a serial entrepreneur. Bill is a Master Teacher at the Acton School of Business and has been voted Best Case Teacher of the Year on multiple occasions by his students. Bill and Amy were married in 2014 and were blessed with two beautiful children, Ruby (4) and Roy (1.5). Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences from the University of Arizona and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Besides rethinking education, Bill's hero's journey also includes aspirations of becoming a professional fisherman!
Amy is a registered nurse specializing in cardiac care. Amy is a former soccer star having played in the USA Olympic Development Program and as a scholarship player at NC State. Amy is currently taking time off from nursing to spend more time with Ruby and Roy and to coach pee-wee soccer for Ruby and her cousins. Amy earned a Bachelor of Science degree from NC State and a Nursing Degree from the University of Miami. Fun facts about Amy: She is a costume runner and marathoner and prefers the kid's table at Thanksgiving!
Cody and Brittany Roberts
Community Champions
Cody and Brittany are the Co-Founders of the Havenwood Nature School and are a Founding Family and Community Champions at Acton Academy Dripping Springs. In addition to their busy professional lives in the financial planning and commercial banking industries, Cody and Brittany find time for ranching, hunting, fishing and raising two beautiful children, Paisley (5) and Kerry (3).
